Web 2.0 is a phrase coined by “O’Reilly Media” in 2004, referring to a perceived “second-generation” of Web-based services, such as social networking sites, wikis, communication tools, and search engine optimization that emphasizes online collaboration and sharing among users.
Basically, Web 2.0 is a collaboration between your audience and you. This time the trend in internet marketing is not just having a website that displays information, but also serving as an aggressive on-line store, resource tool, or a hub to share personal photos, music, videos, podcast and other information. We are using this latest technology in internet as a “spring board” to advertise your web site. Web 2.0 is not software or a plug- in, but a system with several different strategies that can be utilized in several different ways such as, meeting people, telling your friends what you ate for lunch, the movies you watch, sharing video clip of your brother falling off the skateboard, selling items and yes, advertising a web site.
